I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone in our community, Board of Management, Staff, Parents and Children who have worked so hard to ensure Kilglass National School remained open over the last four months of Term One.

The staff and Board of Management of Kilglass National School worked with great dedication to ensure our school gates could reopen in August and our young people could return to a school that would operate under the safest conditions possible. A big thank you to everyone for all of the generous sacrifices made. Flexibility, compassion and professionalism have ensured that our students have been enabled to resume their education, maintain and develop friendships, and continue to grow and learn alongside their peers in a positive and nurturing school environment.

The contribution of many people, working together to create and sustain places of belonging, of care and of shared interests and experience has enabled Kilglass National School to thrive over the past four months.  To Mrs Mulhern, Mrs McAnearney, Mrs Meeneghan, Mrs Lynott, Ms Lynn, Ms Brogan, Martin, Colette, Helena, the Parent Association and the Board of Management who have played such a critical role in the lives of our school children in Kilglass National School thank you.

I would also like to thank all our parents and pupils for your co-operation and support.  By working together to keep each other safe you have played a vital role in ensuring that our school can remain safe and open.

A big thank you to Dave Long, Micheal Sheridan, Declan McDonnell, the Parent Association and all who helped Santa’s save arrival to Kilglass National School last Friday.  It was a lovely surprise and treat for all the children.

I wish each and every one of you a happy Christmas and a New Year of hope and possibility.

Guím Nollaig Sona agus Bliain Úr lán dóchais oraibh go léir.

Beir beannacht.
