Mini-7s

Today Thursday, the boys and girls in Fifth and Sixth Class took part in the CnamB Mini-7s Gaelic tournament.  We were competing in the Western Division against Enniscrone, Rathlee and Corballa National Schools.  Both of our teams played with great intensity and teamwork in blustery conditions.

The boys proved victorious in all of their three matches and are through to the next stage of the competition.  They played with great heart and showed great moments of skill and determination.

The girls won their first match against Enniscrone but didn’t get the result they hoped for against Corballa.  Well done to both teams for their sportsmanship and great effort.

A big well done to Holly Deehan and Rian Bourke who represented the school in the Place-kicking Skills Challenge.  Both pupils displayed great skill under pressure with Rian coming out on top on the day.

A big thank you to our referees Michael and Thomas Sheridan, to all the coordinators, but most especially all our great supporters, pupils, parents and past-pupils.  It was a great day for all.
