The school has recently invested in a new hands-on resource for Mathematics for Third to Sixth Class – Izak9. The active learning involved is rich, shared, open-ended, investigative and most importantly fun. Izak9 gives the children opportunities to learn through play in a way that can challenge, encourage, support, stretch and nourish a confidence and competence in their learning of mathematics.
The Izak9 tasks are designed to allow pupils working in groups to interact with each other, to share and discuss their thought processes and ideas on how to go about solving problems posed by Abacus and Helix. The mathematical skills being developed include applying and problem solving, reasoning, integrating and connecting and communicating and expressing. Check out the link to find out more.
