Last Friday Mrs Meeneghan’s First and Second Class planted a self-pollinating apple tree as part of the Edible Landscape Project.  The ground was prepared in advance by the children in Mrs Lynott’s Fifth Class.  After planting and staking, a layer of cardboard was placed around the tree for protection and a further layer of farmyard manure was added which will get the tree off to a flying start.  We are looking forward to adding some lovely herbs in Spring time around the base of the tree.  A big thank you to Taragh Cosgrove, Ms Flynn and Mrs Mulhern for all their work on the project.
