Congratulations to the Girls Football Team who were victorious in the Cumann na mBunscol 3 & 4 Teacher School Final held in Markievicz Park, Sligo. They were playing a very experienced Moylough team who were defending champions. Despite Moylough surging ahead at the start of the first half the Kilglass girls kept battling hard, fighting for every ball, ending the first half on level terms. The game was swinging from end to end, with our girls eventually winning out the game by two points.
They displayed a great attitude, covered every blade of grass and chased every ball against great opposition. The girls were delighted to lift the trophy after an exhilarating game which was cheered on by a great band of supporters in the stand. Kaydy and Hannah did captains duties on the day, with other girls having fulfilled the role against our previous opponents High Park, Enniscrone and Culfadda. Hannah spoke great words of thanks on receiving the shield and gave three cheers to Moylough on a great game. Well done girls on a great achievement!
Congratulations to the girls on receiving the Maura Galvin Fair Play Award on Sunday for the way the team conducted themselves on Finals Day. This award is presented for showing outstanding respect, manners and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch, towards officials and fellow players alike. This is a great testament to the school, Martin and Ms Mulhern who guided them along the way and the girls who did themselves and their families proud. Well Done!
