Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you will be aware it is the intention of Government that all schools should reopen at the end of August for the new school year.
We are working to ensure that we shall open in compliance with the Department of Education’s Response plan of July 27th (available on school website).
The plan is a detailed and complex one requiring a lot of work and commitment from the whole school community. We are presently configuring classrooms and school spaces to ensure maximum safety for our students and staff.
Our priority from the 1st September in Kilglass National School. will be to ensure that the school stays Covid19 free and thus can continue to stay open. The only way that this can be achieved is through adherence to the guidelines, specifically regarding hygiene.
You will all be aware of the most recent government guidelines regarding travel. We would ask that any travel taken outside the country which requires a fourteen-day quarantine on return is strictly adhered to. We re-iterate that our objective is to keep Kilglass National School open and COVID free.
We are also hoping to receive a commitment from the whole school community, that is; anyone who has reason to believe that they might pose a risk to their fellow pupils and staff would stay at home should they feel unwell.
We expect to be in regular communication with you as time goes on.
We are looking forward to having everyone back to school safely and for the long term. It has been a long time since March 12th and it will be good to be back.
